Request EICAR Test Virus via E-mail
Viruses can be sent to you by e-mail as simple text or executable files as well as they can be compressed in zip, tar or rar archives. In the archives they can even be nested or encrypted.
If you want to find out if your SaferSurf e-mail virus protection is active, request e-mails which contain the EICAR test file.
Afterwards you will receive an e-mail with a link. Use this link in order to confirm that you have requested the test e-mail yourself. Only after this confirmation the requested e-mail will be sent to you.
If you receive the e-mail with the EICAR test file, your e-mail virus protection is not active.
The EICAR test file can not spread itself and it is completely harmless.
