Nutzwerk supports Online Service against Computer Fraud
Alliance against self-proclaimed experts that are trying to stupefy consumers

Nutzwerk as a provider of security solutions now supports the online services computerbetrug.de and dialerhilfe.de (help against computer fraud and dialers). The reason: Nutzwerk has the same philosophy as Heiko Rittelmeier who offers these online services. When Mr Rittelmeier says: "Those self-proclaimed specialists are talking a load of rubbish on TV, radio and in the printed media. And all this rubbish is believed by unknowing consumers. It sometimes drives me crazy…", Nutzwerk can only agree.

Being the inventor of the real-time data filter that guarantees automatic security for every internet user, Nutzwerk not only offers a technical solution for more security in the internet. Another important point is to educate users about the dangers of the internet, thereby improving the acceptance of the medium. However, only an independent institution like computerbetrug.de can provide this education. "If I hear that only very few companies support such internet services actively, I could lose my temper", says Nutzwerk CEO René Holzer.

Nutzwerk's commitment to the computer fraud service consist of paying part of the transfer volume of Mr Rittelmeier's server. If services against computer fraud and dialers disappear from the internet only because the transfer costs are getting too much for the unselfish provider, it would be disastrous. This would mean that the normal user would lose this source of independent information irrecoverably.

Nutzwerk also has its experience with so-called "specialists" that are trying to brainwash internet users. The business with fear of the internet has already become the base of existence for some companies. Unfortunately these profiteers seem to forget that due to the permanent insecurity the confidence of users into the internet is going to fade. "If everybody pulls the plug and the internet is reserved for specialists it will do nobody any good", says Holzer about his reasons to support the computer fraud service. "And if normal users have to protect themselves like big enterprises only to buy a book on the internet or to get news and information, it is a sorry affair", adds Holzer.

Without the valuable information from computerbetrug.de this horror scenario would be just a bit closer. Of course there are risks and problems in the internet. But these have to be solved with simple means that can be mastered by every user. Nutzwerk makes its contribution. Since the 1st of May 2002 an automatic protection against computer viruses has been available. Every internet user can sign up for the service at www.safersurf.com from 1 euro per month.
