Network World, August 26, 2002 Anti-virus software bundled with Linux The security specialist Nutzwerk from Leipzig now offers the virus protection software »SaferSurf« bundled with Linux dedicated servers of the web hoster NTT/Verio. The internet connection is realized at 100 MBit/s via the The customer can use the service by entering the address of the dedicated server as proxy or POP server into his browser or email program respectively. Then the entire data stream from the internet is filtered. According to the provider there is no need for administrative work or anti-virus updates. Apart from the virus protection the solution also provides an anti-spam feature and the possibility to filter out ad banners. Even unwanted dialers are blocked if they are trying to install themselves. There are two different solutions for the administration of 100 or up to 300 mailboxes on offer. Prices start from 399 euros per month plus VAT. |
