W&V From Onlinenews archive, January 2001 New Filter Service for Ads (October 10, 2000) Software producer Nutzwerk from Halle has developed a new system that can influence banner pop-ups. The Adfilter system does not automatically keep away all banners from the user's browser. Instead, only those banners are shown that he is interested in. The user first has to save his profile of interests on the web site www.adfilter.de though. At the moment the filter system is still being tested. Nutzwerk manager René Holzer says that users would rather take in personalized adverts. Negotiations with advertisers and banner networks are still going on. (aj) E-Bits (September 28, 2000) +++The international version of the internet operating system "OrangeGate" from Nutzwerk GmbH is now on the market. The built-in Internet-Manager stops private internet use at the working place by storing internet addresses that are not to be accessed from the workstation – either for individual computers or centrally for the entire company. E-Bits (May 09, 2000) +++Nutzwerk GmbH has developed the "Adstop" system. It is supposed to sort out advertisements from the internet already on the server: www.adstop.de+++
