With its new ad stopper the Nutzwerk company wants to put a stop to the banner flood in the internet. Interested users can test the service at adstop.de. Before the test an eMail address will have to be given. Adstop does not need to be installed. It is based on a proxy technology. As with anonymizers every page is analyzed for advertisements before it is displayed to the user.
According to their own statement banner-typical files are identified, scripts are suppressed and intersticial ads or embedded ad frames are hidden. Supposedly Adstop can be integrated easily into existing server structures even later on. The tool is managed through the browser.
The company sees a new business model in this approach: Once equipped with the necessary software, providers can offer online access with several filter mechanisms and charge this service extra.
Ad-free surfing is currently only possible with the AdStop server of the company. Cooperation partners have not yet been found, but the company is looking for somebody.
