How secure is your e-mail program?

The best way to check the correct function of the virus protection is by means of a test virus. A test virus like for example the EICAR is identified by all anti-virus programs as virus. However, such a test virus does not spread itself and does not cause any damage either.

How does the test work?

At first you will receive an eMail that you have to confirm. Only then the infected eMail is sent to you.

Please note: the infected eMail only simulates a virus and does not do any damage to your computer.

An anti-virus protection that is working correctly would filter out this eMail and send you a message. However, if you can open the eMail without warning, the protection function is not activated on your computer. We recommend to use SaferSurf in order to protect your eMail program.
