On this page a java object named com.ms.activeX.ActiveXComponent is generated by means of the applet tag. This is a Microsoft specific Java extension that can be called up using any ActiveX control. These can then be controlled via a script. This test was taken from the browser check in the c't computer magazine. The test generates the file EA.HTA on your desktop. It would be possible to create a file in your Autostart folder and for example format your entire hard disk at the next system start.
If the message 'EA.HTA created' is displayed on your monitor, please go to the desktop. The file EA.HTA is saved there. Please note: if the message is displayed and the file is saved on your desktop, there is a security gap in your browser that leaves you unprotected. We recommend to use SaferSurf in order to protect your internet access. For help, please click here.
Close the window after the test or refresh the page to repeat the test. Recommend this test to your friends and relatives. Recommendation: Security test |
